Michael Todd Pumpkin Mask

Beauty boxes can be really hit-or-miss. Sometimes I get crappy self-tanning wipes (no thanks) or a packet of tea (seriously?). But sometimes. SOMETIMES I hit gold, and that is what happened with the lovely and oh-so-tingly Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin Mask, which was delivered to me in either a Birchbox or a Glossybox. After a kind of rough year, it took me months to actually try this out, and I regret that. Why? Because it is amazing. A-maz-ing. And just in time for fall, season of pumpkin and pumpkin accessories.

Michael Todd Pumpkin Mask

This just LOOKS organic as hell, does it not? Like organic baby food. It also smells like fresh pumpkin. Pumpkin pie. You will want to eat it, but don’t. It probably doesn’t taste like pumpkin pie (not that I know from experience). It might, but please resist the urge to find out. Put it on your face.

Michael Todd Pumpkin Mask

Once on your face it looks pretty gross, like you’ve been rolling around in pumpkin goop and liked it. As this product contains glycolic acid and proteolytic enzymes, so you’ll probably feel a tingly pins-and-needles sensation. Tread carefully if you have sensitive skin. I put my face through a lot, so not much bothers it. This one stings a bit, but not in a way that’s unbearable. It only lasts for a minute or two and then it’s smooth sailing.

You’re instructed to leave in on for 5-10 minutes (less if you’re a total wimp), but as per usual I leave mine on for like 30. So what happens after you rinse off all that pumpkin delight? My face feels incredibly smooth, moisturized, firm and brighter. I can’t really tell if the anti-aging element is there, since I don’t have many fine lines, but I’m hoping for the best. This mask is to be used every one to two weeks, but I usually sneak it in at least twice a week, because I’m a rebel.

Basically I love this product so much that I almost exploded when I found it as a Groupon deal. Two full-size bottles for $20? Don’t mind if I do. Nothing wrong with stocking up. No, I’m not addicted (yes I am). Thank you Michael Todd.

Pros: Smells like pumpkin pie, if you like pumpkin pie. Does everything it says. Tingly. AMAZING.
Cons: Smells like pumpkin pie, if you don’t like pumpkin pie. Slightly expensive, questionable for sensitive skin.

Final Verdict: So obviously this is my favorite thing right now. I just stocked up on Groupon (2 for $20!!), but if you’re interested, you can find it at Michael Todd for $34 USD. There are also some deluxe sample sizes floating around on eBay for relatively cheap, so if you want to test the pumpkin-laced waters, I suggest you try one of those!

Has anyone tried this pumpkin mask, or anything else by Michael Todd? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
