ColourPop has been all the rage in the blogosphere lately. My social media is full of it. So how is it that I had never even heard of it? I don’t even know. But this is what I found out. They’re a local company, here in Los Angeles. They don’t test on animals. They have a MILLION shades of eyeshadow, blush, some super popular lip products, and all for five bucks apiece. Move over, e.l.f. There’s a new bitch in town.
After perusing the website, I decided on the Megan Naik x ColourPop collaboration. It has four shades in a ‘middle eastern’ theme, and all of them were super pleasing to me. Megan Naik, for those who aren’t in the know (like me before I bought this), is a makeup artist who is wildly popular on Instagram. Unfortunately for this review, my eye photos will not look nearly as good as hers. I may be a professional photographer, but I kind of blow when it comes to professional makeup. Oh well. It’s a review, not a tutorial. Kisses.

I had NO idea what to expect when I ordered this. It looked like a pressed powder, yet there wasn’t a description on the website. I was praying, PRAYING it wasn’t loose powder. That shit’s way too messy for me. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised opening this and discovering it’s a cream-to-powder formula. It’s incredibly silky-smooth, unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. And I like it.
The facts:
Not tested on animals
Four shades in Megan Naik collection
A TON of shades outside the collection
Matte, Metallic and Satin finishes
From ColourPop:
A foursome that appears to have been sent down from a makeup god above! That makeup god just so happens to be Megan Naik. This foursome collection highlights the gorgeous landscape of colors and textures of the middle east. The result? An all new exclusive collection that will take your breath away.
Ingredients:
See above photo. Go on, give it a click.

This pigment is buildable, so you can range it from super light and translucent(ish) to bright and bold. ColourPop suggests you apply this with your fingers. Super easy, but if you don’t like finger painting, brushes are cool too. It also has excellent staying power–I roughly wiped it away with my hand a few times and it didn’t even budge. Perfect. Once it’s on, it quickly powderizes/dries, so you should get your blending done fast before it’s stuck there. FOREVER. (Oops.)
With Lectra and Amira.
With Onai and Farah.
I probably need to note that I’m still walking around with two different eyes… I should probably take care of that before I leave my apartment. HAHA, JUST KIDDING, I’M A HERMIT.
Pros: Gorgeous colo(u)rs, amazing formula, long-lasting, super affordable, easy to apply.
Cons: Slight fallout on super glittery shades (Amira), but not too bad.
Final Verdict: Be still my heart. Every time I think I’m done falling in love, it happens again. And I have no regrets. I can’t wait to get my hands on some other shades, and I definitely need to try some of their famous Lippie Stix. Check out the Megan Naik collaboration at ColourPop for $20 USD.
